The Way Eye See It
The Photographers Blog
Hello, I'm Laura Ramos. If we have not had the pleasure of meeting let me tell you why I have created this blog. I am a long winded social butterfly who always has something to say and is quite talented when it comes to breaking up an awkward silence. I do happen to think I'm funny, so be prepared to laugh or shake your head as you read along with my posts.
Well folks, fall is finally here. Although, it is a bit hard to swallow seeing as the temps reached a record high of 100 degrees today in Mesa! Good gravy, can we get a break? Yes, yes we can. You can get a break by booking one of my photography mini sessions today for the low price of $70 for a 30 minute session that will bring you a minimum of 5 digital images to show off. Take advantage of this special pricing so you can get ahead of the game and order your holiday cards and update that old family photo on the wall. This lovely lady took advantage of my time and talent, and I think it's safe to say she will be quite pleased with the outcome. Date's are filling up fast so contact me today to book your photoshoot!
This beautiful baby of mine is now six months old, and so wise beyond her months on Earth. Being a mother to Siama, has been an adventure and I count every day as a blessing. Photographically, she is pushing my work experience to a new level. The most difficult, yet adorable of subjects happens to me my child. What's that kids say these days, SMH? Yeah, that's me shaking my head at every photo shoot. She sure knows how to make me earn my shots!
Her husband bedside, grabs onto the rail for support as his breath is taken away. A tear of joy rolls out of her eye, as she clutches her newborn son to her chest. The moment is here, their family is complete. Childbirth photography continues to amaze me with the intense joy it brings me and my clients. This is my happy place.
I can't think of a better way to capture family photos then to take a hike at Usery Mountain Regional Park. This family had fun exploring and dodging jumping chollas, while I did my thing capturing the love and energy they have for each other. I'm looking forward to spending more time chasing Alanna and her furry pal Jake around, as she continues to grow into the sweet young lady she is :)
Well it's been a long time coming. I moved to the Phoenix, Arizona valley one year ago in July and I am finally ready to roll my shutter again. I have missed all of my regular photography gigs and clients back in Wisconsin. As I see them carry on, I remember I too must carry on. Now that I have had time to get to know the area and adapt to the climate, I am very excited and motivated to get back to work as a photographer. Moving to Arizona has been an amazingly positive change in my life and I will be forever glad I made the move.
One of the most exciting changes that has taken place is currently growing inside me, due to escape on November 30th! My husband and I are expecting a baby (human, we are maxed out on pets at the moment with 4!) and we've decided to be surprised by the baby's gender. If you've known me for any length of time, you know that I am currently living a dream come true. A great big part of this dream is getting to chase down my ideal photography business, as Artistic Eye Photography I will now be focusing on capturing childbirth! If you are just getting to know me, take a look at this video which I created in 2009. When I put together this video project I fell head over heels in love with childbirth photography. The love intensity is 1,000 times stronger than working as a wedding photographer. Unbeknownst to me at the time, I was a year away from a divorce and my dream of focusing my business on birth photography was a twinkle in the sky. Well folks, the stars have aligned and I am now in a position where I can make it happen. I will continue to be a portrait and wedding photographer with no more than one wedding per month on my schedule, allowing for the unpredictability of most babies grand entrances.
